A renown watercolour artist from Leeds, UK
John Gardner was born in London and studied for his ‘O’ level in Birmingham and ‘A’ level in Bradford grammar school before qualifying from the Faculty of Architecture at Sheffield University.
As architectural design gradually became computerised, he renewed his interest in painting and attended evening Art classes at (Jacob Kramer) Leeds Arts University and in 2000 he was chosen for Channel 4 Watercolour Challenge art program with expert artist Mike Chaplin.
John was inspired by many artists, but more specifically the artists Mike Chaplin, G. John Blockley and American watercolour painter Stephen Quiller.
Having been a senior architect before AutoCad took over his painting perspectives are exquisite.
